Welcome to our HONEYMOON
The Rick Steves' Best of Europe in 21 Days Tour
Hello! We are Steve and Hannah Masleid. After making the decision to elope, the next thing to figure out was, of course, the honeymoon! We were both new to the travel scene, only traveling within North America, but decided this big step should be celebrated with a big trip - "Let's go to Europe!". With no experience on our side, we started watching "Rick Steves' Europe" episodes. Even with all the helpful information in each program, we were feeling overwhelmed about figuring out all the details on our own. Then one day Steve heard Rick Steves' mention his tour company in an episode and a lightbulb went on. Why would we ever put ourselves through the stress of doing this on our own when we could just purchase a tour?!? So after considering each option, 'The Best of Europe in 21 Days' it was! We hope our photos and memories will inspire you and your next trip! Happy traveling!

Getting ready to pack for our month long trip was no small feat. We watched lots of videos, read blogs and did multiple trial packings to get it down to this. As we were preparing there were things we took into consideration. We would be visiting religious sites, so we needed to make sure we had modest clothing for those days. We were also going from northern Europe to southern, and from the mountains to the beach - so light layers that were quick drying were necessary. Another item that went into consideration was figuring out our wi-fi situation for this period. After comparing our phone provider with renting a wi-fi hotspot, we went with the hotspot - and boy were we glad we did! Many of our new friends on our tour had gone with the international plan with their phone provider and were out of the allotted data the first week. We had purchased such a large package that we were able to share our password and provide data to many with us. The last tip with packing is to download the Rick Steves' app and correlating audioguides ahead of time. It was much simpler to have that ready to go when we pulled up to our museums or city walks than waiting to find a signal and download it while in Europe.
Thursday September 1st - We have planned, we have packed and now we are FINALLY off! Our flight path was Indianapolis to Boston then Boston to Amsterdam. Our trip across the Atlantic Ocean took us a full day and we were so glad we only packed a carry on.
